Learning Outcome
By the end of this Level 3 First Aid at Work course, learners will be able to:
Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider in the workplace, including assessing situations safely and acting promptly in emergencies.
Assess incidents and casualties to provide effective and safe first aid.
Provide first aid for an unresponsive casualty, including performing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Provide first aid for choking incidents.
Provide first aid for external bleeding, shock, and minor injuries.
Recognise and manage common workplace illnesses and medical conditions, such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, asthma, diabetes, and anaphylaxis.
Provide first aid for a range of injuries, including fractures, sprains, strains, head injuries, burns, scalds, eye injuries, and chest injuries.
Understand the importance of infection control and how to reduce cross-contamination risks.
Keep accurate records of incidents and report accidents properly in line with workplace procedures.
Understand the legal requirements for first aid at work and how to maintain skills through regular practice and refresher training.
Entry Requirement
To enrol in emergency first aid course, you must:
Learners must be a minimum of least 16 years of age.
Provide photographic ID (passport or driving licence) and proof of Identification.
Be able to understand and communicate effectively in English (Level 1 English or equivalent)
Assessment Procedure
The emergency first aid training assessment is straightforward and supportive.
- You’ll show your trainer the skills you’ve learned during the practical parts.
- You’ll complete a short, simple question paper at the end.
Once you pass, you’ll get your Level 3 First Aid at Work Training certificate, usually on the same day or shortly after.
